My "Selfie" Saturday at Balay Cena Una

Image
It's a hot sunny afternoon, and i found my vintage refuge. There's one off the beaten path restaurant located in Daraga, Albay – it's called Balay Cena Una ( sounds like sinauna, like sinaunang panahon). I was in Legazpi for a series of meetings, after my heavy lunch in Four Seasons Restaurant, an old Chinese restaurant located in the heart of the City, I decided to explore Daraga, albay. I rode a jeep from Legazpi city, fare is 12.00. Balay Cena Una's best-seller dessert Chocolate Cake! :)@P87.00 onl There, I find Balay Cena Una, an ancestral house turned into a cozy restaurant. It's in the street where you can find row of old houses too. It's easy to find your way there. If you're riding a jeep, just go down at Bigg's Diner in Daraga, the street adjacent to the restaurant is the road going to Balay Cena Una. I'm so lucky, i have the place all to myself. :) No noisy crowd, no kids running around, no loud music - it was

Keeping track of my travels

My passport  :) Enjoying the most fantastic egg tart ever and iced tea in Macau! :) with Today with Francis production staff and Laoag Tourism Staff at the Dragon fruit far Our favorite LPL Suites just across Greenbelt 3. It's clean, convenient and affordable :)  At Vigan, Ilocos Sur, a little gallivanting while our host was busy putting cucumbers on his eyes ( told him to sleep early to avoid eyebags! ) That's a rainmaker I'm holding, my pasalubong for Gaby my love. :)  The famous bagnet pizza at Cafe Leona :) So, where have I been? Not that much I suppose. Just to keep track of my travels – I'm going to try to remember where I had been all these years. 1. Baguio City The first one was when I was still in High School. I was with my Mom and I got sick there. I had a hard time breathing. Strange things happen whenever I'm in Baguio. I always feel it that way. It;s instint. The second time I was there as a segm

ELLIS ECOTEL TWO THUMBS UP

Main entrance of the hotel. There's an elevator at the farthest end too if you don;t want to take the escalator. The elevator is located at the back of PureGold. My best hotel in Legazpi City so far.  Working here is perfect! :)  working desk. The bonus is there's a lot of electrical outlet so there's no way that you're gadgets would be out of battery :) Yey!  This hall way going to the front desk / main lobby reminds me of ocean park - minus the fishes and sharks of course. But there's plenty of mirrors! and I so love it! I am endorsing this hotel! Not trying to be really flashy about style but all the comfort that you need is right here! :)  ELLIS ECOTEL TWO THUMBS UP! I frequent Legazpi City lately because of 1. Marketing job – my new sideline just kicks off and I'm trying to get the hang of Legazpi City. 2. There are places which are just too special to me ( like Legazpi City ) that it always transports me to a different le

James Bond Special Mission : Ugama Undercover!

Image
I posted on my facebook that I'll be giving away one starbucks coffee treat for whoever can bring to my daughter Wafi ugama or crablets. Those are fresh water crablets found in the river. Unlike those days when Ugama was available anytime of the day at the Naga Supermarket, or sometimes, we can always ask our friendly neighbor who lived near the stream nearby and voila, we can always have those crawling crablets alive, cramming their way out of the pail. But these days, it's considered novelty. So then, the search went on for over a month. Many voluntereed to look, a friend was amazed with my daughter's awe and wonder with simple things such as this – he even went to Calabanga just to check if he can find one – but no, not available. One of my friends who lived in a far flung town even frequent their wet market daily – in the morning and in the afternoon. He even made friends with the person who he thought can bring the ugama to my daughter. But the days pa

AataswithAfter a series of weeks and months of auditions for the duwang camarines singing and dance contests - this is the day! The finals night! the night of all nights! The 40k pesos is really worth fighting for. Before I give you all what happened during the grand finals.Let me give you an idea on how we did the auditions and the scouting of talents. 1. Our team went around and coordinated with the municipalities all over Camarines Sur. That meant from with my good friend Irvz Noleal - he's also the floor director of the show. :) He kept me out of trouble from any air gap mishaps!  n the first district to the fifth district. It was like a travel challenge on how to fit every municipality in one day. The driver statregized all the locations and I followed his plan because well, he;s the driver and you better be friendly with the driver otherwise, you'll end up fighting over which are to go - not only that your life is always at stake when you're at war with the dri

Kapamilya Karavan 2012

So now that I cannot brush elbows with the celebrities because of star restrictions...Julie's mascot got all my attention. That night, the mascot was more appealing than the stars. hahaha.. Julie's Mascot TF: 400 pesos. Time of appearance on stage: more or less 4-5 minutes. Time of dressing up the heavy mascot costume : More or less 15-20 minutes ( with the help of everyone who was around). Chai's Team for the Karavan. Well done. :)  Add caption For some strange reason, I raised my hands ( up in the air!!!! ) and volunteered to help during the Kapamilya Karavan. Last time, I was in charge of the PR, meaning, I was with some national press people for a day, touring them, letting them eat, coordinate everything for them. I met two great connections there in TV and in print.  threw my hands up in the air, I thought I would be assigned either in the production or PR again- but I was told I am going to be the personal assistants of the artists. Well, many p
