Food Trip while on the road

Lunch at UCC  Da French Toast  Sunday Something ...hahahha.. i forgot the name of this but it's really yummy  Eating is my favorite part during our travels. As it gives nourishment to me, at the same time, it gives me a break from my monotonous home food. I mean, I like home-cooked meals, I love the restaurants here in Naga - but when you're out there somewhere - totally foreign to you and you don't even know what a Poqui-poqui is - you can't help but to explore in your wildest imagination - the gastronomic delights every town or city has to offer. So for our first stop: Day 1 May 19 2012 Saturday Kare-Kare Breakfast at UCC in Rockwell. Well, this is UCC Rockwell. So what can you expect but a high-end breakfast. A breakfast for one that can feed four of your friends in Mc Donalds. Hubby ordered Sunday something which I forgot the name, it costs around 265.00 for an order and actually it tastes really good and really feeling. It just reminds m

After the Slammin'

With my favorite author, Mr. Ricky Lee and Goddess of Bicol Poetry, Issa with my BFF, Ronel ( our first meeting )  Last February 21, I was able to interview Ricky Lee, one of my favorite Filipino writers. He was here to give lecture on script writing.  Through Jason's help, I was able to contact his personal assistant so I could interview him. He's the most accommodating writer and interviewee I've ever met. It was an inspiring and enlightening interview. I think we don't need to edit his interview anymore.  One of the best things that happened after that interview, was that it rekindled my love for poetry. For quite sometime now, I was just writing scripts, coordinating events and juggling my hands with work, being a mom, being a wife, and I forgot that I used to love attending poetry readings and even organized one before. I was able to get in touch with the usual guys again. The same writers who keep the flame of poetry burning. I was able to me

my hubby's gift. Meiji Chocolate and Coke  The last time I remember that I celebrated my birthday so happily was when I was 24 years old. The prime of my life. Mom and Dad were both alive - and we  had visitors from Australia who brought me a card and a lot of ferrero rocher chocolates - one of my favorite chocolates. But I love dark chocolates!!!!! ;) One of my cousin, gave me Mr. Holland's Opus soundtrack. One of my fave movies that time. I was so happy that time. I thought I have the world in the palm of my hands. I remember, I was wearing my favorite soft jeans and white shirt - and for the first time, I knew that I am quite pretty. Not much of a beauty contestant - but I thought then, I look good. wishing.... :) So, here I am. The birthday girl. :) with two girls in tow - and a husband to grow old with. Birthday meal I do not have much of a wish. Just maybe, good health for everyone in the family. A good career, a job that will make me happy everyd

Halo-Halo, The Tigaon Way...

Image
shaving ice the old fashioned way TIgaon Public Market One time, the searing heat of summer is just intolerable. After a days work in Partido area, the disc jockey over the radio was recommending a good stop over for a halo-halo - so, the driver and I got an idea of where to get a good glass of halo-halo in the area. The small restaurant, about 20 square meters, is being owned and managed by a mother and son team. When we got there, Marcuz, the son, who is a nurse, is shaving ice the old fashion-way. And his mom was busy preparing the halo-halo orders in the kitchen I feel a tinge of envy, when both of them are making their way into the kitchen. How I miss my mom when I see this scene. HALO 2X AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE...BUT WE SERVE THE BEST HERE... They don't have any marketing background I suppose, but hey, I love their tagline. Halo-Halo available elsewhere, but we serve the best here. No flyers, No big billboards, No radio or TV ads, but the word of the mouth

TODAY WITH FRANCIS GOES AIRING IN 19 COUNTRIES | Love keeps it going

It's pretty amazing how a small and local independent production is being offered an international airtime. Today with Francis, started with the collaboration of three heads ( brains included). Fer, Atty. Francis and I just chatted on facebook and had conceptualized a show that would bring inspiration to the youth. Thus, Fer thought of the tagline, cool, committed and concerned. That's practically the show is all about. After a month's of brainstorming, buying the equipment, writing the scripts, and conceptualizing - we headed to our very first shooting day. We were able to travel in several places, Bicol, Manila, Tagaytay, Batangas, Hongkong, Macau. Just recently, we were able to cover Northern Luzon, we were able to visit Porac, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Vigan and Laoag. :) We were given a very affordable air time rate in GNN ( Global News Network ). We finished about 12 episodes, showing every Sunday at 10:00am. We beat the deadlines. The show has improve
