Learning to breathe again

Image
Obviously, yes,  every part of my body is aching tonight. Most especially my wrists and my arms. I am not young anymore. I am not that flexible as before. I cannot reach my toes, I cannot lift or twist my body like I used to do, but surprisingly, I still can lift my butt with that certain yoga position, i can do the child's post and keep my balance but definitely, not that locust position. That one in the picture you're looking at, that's after my very first basic yoga class. I asked my yoga teacher to take a photo of me for this blog and as souvenir. A photo that would remind me that I was able to survive my first yoga class. I was able to keep up with the rest of my yoga classmates. I scrambled while following the  instructions of the yoga teacher who can do all the positions with ease, with impeccable balance, with great stamina. What do you expect from a tired Mom? lols!  I work. I am a very busy woman. My body and mind are both working, besides this, I try ...

Corn bread, our family's favorite bread

Image
Always perfect for coffee, tea or milk  I discovered baking  corn bread I guess when I was pregnant with Mikee. I was working home-based  that time. And because I was at home most of the time, I had the time to prepare meals for the family and try dishes and breads and pastries while waiting for the stork. That was years ago. Mikee is now three years old. After I gave birth, I went back to work and was frantically busy with everything. Cooking and baking was put aside. But you know, when you're a Mom, there's always this longing to cook and bake something for the family. It happened again, the cooking muse found me again, one rainy afternoon trip when I was on my way home to Naga from Legazpi. As soon as I arrived Naga, I bought all the ingredients and baked again corn bread, our family's favorite bread. I got the recipe from this website  click this link for recipe . Corn bread's  origin according to some articles I read is from South America. This is a ...

8 tips on Self-Service Laundry

Image
Seriously, in these times when househelps are so difficult to find and although washing machines are affordable but you don't have the time and water is scarce;  this do it yourself laundry is very helpful to family like us. I am very sure that this is also friendly and convenient to students, transients and busy working people. I remember, my mom used to tell me, in those days, women gather in the river banks and wash their clothes there while listening to the radio or catching up with their daily lives or even sharing "tsismis" or gossip. These days, we all go to the self-service laundry. One Big Wash, our laundry shop nearby. Located at Barlin Street in Naga City That's Gaby. I'm teaching her how to do the laundry Together with my 15-year old daughter Gabby, being first times in the self-service laundry, we tried and are compelled to do the laundry by ourselves because of the rainy weather and the absence of a househelp. Going to the do- it- y...

Delectable Dimsum Treat at The Park Restaurant

Image
Chinese by heart (and  stomach) I studied in a Chinese School from Elementary to High School. My Dad worked with a Chinese boss, Mom was fond of hopia, tikoy and kiamoy, dikiam and  ma-ho. Our family loved Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. Needless to say, although we're definitely not Chinese, but of course,  we know that we might have Chinese blood from our ancestors (or maybe not?), our family seems to have a connection with anything Chinese. The Emperor's Treat With the Bicol Bloggers The last time I remembered I had my fill of dimsum was somewhere along Penafrancia Avenue, now China Bank. There was a Chinese restaurant situated right on spot of that location. I vividly remembered that dumplings were being wheeled around on carts by servers. It's hot and steamy and served in  round basket steamers. Spring Roll Vegetable P150.00 When our family dined in it usually served as out appetizer.  It's ready to eat and served usually in three or four ...

Mom of many hats and shoes

Image
I wear many hats. I'm a working mother. click here ( to find out more about what I do)     I cook.  I do household chores (well except for the laundry and ironing).  I do gardening (when I have time). I feed the kids. and I do these things repeatedly, almost everyday. However, I'm a friend too, a sister, a soul mate, a wife, I join good causes like planting trees saving the Bicol River and I'm part-time  blogger. I go to the public market. I enjoy doing this with my Mikee. I wear flip flops. sometimes you just have to kick off your shoes and give your feet a rest. It's a complicated, haywire, multi-tasking ability to wear different "mother"  hats and fulfill all the roles all at the same time. I pick up the baby when she cries. I change diapers while cooking. I check emails while preparing snacks for the kids. I line in long queue to pay bills while reading. I manage my time between meetings and having coffee with friends. my handy shoe...

Conspired Noel Cabangon | March 18, 2015

Image
My friend told me I am a stalker of this folk singer. He had a concert a month ago and in less than a month I am in Manila to catch him perform live. I cannot get over Noel Cabangon or as I always tell them, hindi ako talaga makabangon. I can-not-move on! Can-not! His songs are my forever LSS! Dream come true: Conspiracy bar. Bucket list, check! I love this place. I'm at home. every corner spells and spills with art Can't believe that I'm again with my ultimate idol/crush/LSS Noel Cabangon but this time with my super best-friend, Monet I am very selective in music and with singers. If I like singer, I would play the singer's playlist over and over again as if there's only one singer in this planet. I admit that after the concert, I became also an instant fan of Noel Cabangon, just like some audience who watched his concert last February 20. We ordered for margarita and gin tonic and some squidballs. Kilig much. We're seated just ...

My Journey at Byahe : The Noel Cabangon Concert

Image
Noel Cabangon said to us, don't worry,  we can never go wrong, God is on our side. I remember that line of Noel like a mantra. For some strange reasons, it made me reflect on a lot of things.  It's only in this event that I happened to realize that I already have managed countless events. When somebody asked me how many events I've handled, I enumerated to her several of my big events and she said, that's a lot. How were you able to handle that? You have kids, a family. Where are are you getting all that energy, the balance? I couldn't answer for a while. I have to ask myself too. And I remember this one quote that said "Find a work you really love, and you'll never work in a day.:  Maybe that's my driving force. I never look at this job as work. Lay out of this poster is designed by Jerome Ordovez I always look work as an experience. A chance to meet new friends. Maybe, along the way, I can stumble upon a good opportunity which can deve...
