James Bond Special Mission : Ugama Undercover!

I posted on my facebook that I'll be giving away one starbucks coffee treat for whoever can bring to my daughter Wafi ugama or crablets. Those are fresh water crablets found in the river. Unlike those days when Ugama was available anytime of the day at the Naga Supermarket, or sometimes, we can always ask our friendly neighbor who lived near the stream nearby and voila, we can always have those crawling crablets alive, cramming their way out of the pail. But these days, it's considered novelty.

So then, the search went on for over a month. Many voluntereed to look, a friend was amazed with my daughter's awe and wonder with simple things such as this – he even went to Calabanga just to check if he can find one – but no, not available. One of my friends who lived in a far flung town even frequent their wet market daily – in the morning and in the afternoon. He even made friends with the person who he thought can bring the ugama to my daughter. But the days passed – no Ugama sighthings – it's not in season. Those creatures are hiding from us. So, we just wait for our destiny for the most covetable Ugama in the history of Wafi's life.

Until one day, Eureka! Guess who went home bringing a half kilo of Ugama? Our househelp. She was riding in a jeep, then a lady rode with a pail of Ugama crawling out to save their lives from the pail. Everybody at home was so excited, Wafi was so amazed and afraid seeing Ugama live in person ( in crablets! ) hahaha.. She was so afraid but at the same time really amazed and wonder why they appear so small. But according to everyone in the house – I was the one who was super happy. Well, who wouldn't ? After searching for a month or so - Ate was able to bring home the Ugama to Wafi. :)
