The Barn School | The Green Education

Imagine your kids in plaid shirts, jeans and boots and cowboy hats? Tilling soil, growing plants and trees? Waking up early morning to catch the sunrise and smell the flowers? Imagine them in a wall-less classrooms, breathing fresh air, getting their hands dirty and watching the sunset in the farm. Would you like your children to experience this?

An out of the box idea of two friends from the U.S, with the help of Ms. Bernadette of La Huerta Farm. Ms. Lilibeth and Alpha wanted to go back and give back whatever knowledge they earned abroad to their fellow countrymen.

Ultimately through skype and facebook they were able to put up all their ideas into action - the project that has been brewing for a long time - The Barn School. A fresh concept of education which main thrusts is to bring back the basics-the love of agriculture, the love of farming, the love of taking care of the earth. But besides this, the school will offer a wholistic and experiential approach to learning integrating the love of our history, respect to our culture and strengthen our love of our country.

We're present during the first information session
The Barn School will soon open its doors to new students next year. A class of 40 students of Grade 11 who are daring enough to take risks to study in a different atmosphere and curriculum.

Soon, The Barn School will have a campus tour to inform students as well as educators about this new and very laudable project.

Let's all take care of our soil. Let's grow food. Let's teach our children the importance of farming.
