Flights of Fancy | Gabby Basbas Summer Exhibit

Proud mom here. Blogging about my 14 year old daughter who held her very first exhibit last summer.

She started with a single piece of drawing using Chinese ink as influenced by one of her art mentors, Pen Prestado.  Of course, her dad's genes contributed a lot to this young lady's talent.

Supposedly, it was a gift for me on Mother's Day. However, from one single art work, because it's summer, she produced more and from there, we decided to hold an exhibit for her.

Gabby received a lot of praises. Several interviews on TV shows, newspaper and magazine write-ups. But she remained unfazed. She was a kid after all, just enjoying what she's doing. Just chilling her summer away with guests coming over to her exhibit, buying her paintings, having photos with her. She was awesome and calm, not even shrieking or drowned with the attention she was getting.

I am one proud mom. If summer of 2015 was memorable for her, for me, it would be etched in my heart forever.

Congratulations dear Gabby. You make us all proud.
