Delectable Dimsum Treat at The Park Restaurant

Image
Chinese by heart (and  stomach) I studied in a Chinese School from Elementary to High School. My Dad worked with a Chinese boss, Mom was fond of hopia, tikoy and kiamoy, dikiam and  ma-ho. Our family loved Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. Needless to say, although we're definitely not Chinese, but of course,  we know that we might have Chinese blood from our ancestors (or maybe not?), our family seems to have a connection with anything Chinese. The Emperor's Treat With the Bicol Bloggers The last time I remembered I had my fill of dimsum was somewhere along Penafrancia Avenue, now China Bank. There was a Chinese restaurant situated right on spot of that location. I vividly remembered that dumplings were being wheeled around on carts by servers. It's hot and steamy and served in  round basket steamers. Spring Roll Vegetable P150.00 When our family dined in it usually served as out appetizer.  It's ready to eat and served usually in three or four ...

Poisoned with Love | Poison Cauldron Library Cafe in Daraga, Albay

Image
From the moment I found the place under the searing heat of the sun, it sends  off automatically a deja vu chills! It's as if there's someone who whispered to me to look right and indeed, I'm on the right spot! I found Poison Cauldron, an old house with big pink open windows, and big trees around the house.  There's that certain smell of old houses and even the old books. It brought some joyful shivers in my spine. and I told myself, I am home. Old houses always struck me as interesting. Mainly, because I also live in a Pre-Spanish era house. Secondly, my Mom and I are paranormal lovers. We like the world of the unknown, ghosts, ghouls, lost souls, aliens and crystals and spaceships  (Well, off topic! This will be another post in my blog). Here is my Top Five Reasons Why Poison Cauldron Library Cafe   is worth your visit! 1. Books!      Lots of it. If you're a book worm, this place is your sanctuary. There's a variety of books from romanc...

Image
With Blogger Friends, Ivy and Jo (Early birds)  When you suddenly miss home, you just wanted to eat something that would connect you to the place where your loved ones are. I am usually like that. Whenever I miss Mom, I crave for her cooking. I eat something that reminds me of her and the memories I had with her. It works though. Somehow, the emptiness seems to just go away. And the food helps. (Just don't over eat!!! ) With Jimmy & Tang's, there's something that connects me to home. The homey feel, the very accommodating owners, the aroma. or shall I say maybe it's the Callos. My mom was a vegetarian but she cooked food with veggie meat so we weren't deprive of protein. She allowed us to eat meat too. Though I have to say that her vegetarian dishes, you'll forget about meat. Callos at Jimmy & Tang's is to die for. Well, almost all the food they served are.
