Chinese Food

I love Chinese food. :) I think apart from cakes, Chinese food is also my comfort food. It just makes me happy. Maybe, one reason for this is my dad when he was still with us, used to bring us to Chinese restaurants. He let us study in a Chinese school from elementary to high school. He trained us how to be like Chinese (although we are not, but according to my grandparents, we too have Chinese blood). I speak a bit of Chinese. My good old friends are Chinese. 70% of my classmates were Chinese. My dad worked with a Chinese employer. So, there goes my love affair with anything Chinese.

Well, to make the story short, I always try to visit any Chinese restaurants in Ongpin. The last time that I was with boss we tried Hap-Chan :) It's not a hole in the wall restaurant, the food isn't that expensive but it's not for those who wants to try Chinese food in a shoe-string budget. Well, I was able to binge in because my boss paid for everything. And oh, it was oh so heavenly. :)

So, for a change, my next visit to Ongpin, with a good friend in tow, I revisited my favorite New Eastern Restaurant, established in 1950's. It's an old restaurant with old tables and chairs and ceiling fans, but the food is great. So, what the heck, the ambiance brought some good memories while we eat.

for 310.00 pesos, we were able to order, fresh lumpia with seaweeds ( the regular one), pansit and tofu and plain rice. It was tummy-heavy. The fresh lumpia was already filling. My good friend who ate here first time was amazed with the food. Well, who wouldn't? the fresh lumpia is really really really good. I wish I could take it home. :)
